More support is available for local groups and organisations to host cultural events and festivals thanks to additional funding being provided by the NSW Government.
Minister for Multiculturalism Mark Coure said a total of $800,000 is available through Multicultural NSW’s Stronger Together Grants Program to support the hosting of cultural events and festivals, and projects.
“This grants program is all about investing in your community by providing support for activities that foster community harmony and celebrate our State’s incredible cultural diversity,” Mr Coure said.
“To date, the NSW Government has already invested more than $1 million into groups and organisations to host cultural events and festivals in their local areas.”
Mr Coure said the hundreds of cultural events and festivals that feature in the State are a testament to the strong harmonious society that has been built in NSW.
“Thanks to our great diversity, you don’t need to travel overseas to experience the colour and vibrancy different cultures have to offer—you can experience it right here in NSW,” Mr Coure said.
“While showcasing the rich mosaic of cultures we have here in NSW, these events also have a meaningful role in breaking down barriers between people and fostering mutual respect and understanding.”
A total of $800,000 through the Stronger Together Grants Program will be available across two rounds of Festival and Event grants and one round of Project grants. Round one is currently open and will close 17 June 2022. Rounds two and three will open later this year.
